On the night of the release of Together Through Life, Bob Dylan took to the stage of the O2 Arena in London and opened his concert with…Maggie’s Farm. For those who have followed Bob Dylan over the years, the performance of Maggie’s Farm ignites memories of the legendary 1965 performance of the song at the Newport Folk Festival, when Dylan brought an electric guitar to a folk festival and altered the course of rock n roll. While iTunes headlined Dylan’s new album on it’s New Music Tuesday, citing inspiration from the ”uncluttered early rock and R&B recordings of Chess and Sun Records,” Dylan himself marked the occasion by returning to the moment that has become “the most written about event in the history of rock.”
